Manchester United fans believe they may have found the answer to Erik ten Hag's midfield conundrum after watching Declan Rice and Sofyan Amrabat in Wednesday’s Europa Conference League final.
It was Rice who was left smiling at the end of the night as West Ham beat Fiorentina 2-1 to lift their first major European trophy in 58 years. The midfielder remained coy when asked about his future post-match but refused to rule out an exit amid links with United.
The Reds had previously asked about Amrabat in January after he had starred for Morocco at the World Cup. Fiorentina stood firm, unhappy with the proposal, as Erik ten Hag instead turned to Marcel Sabitzer as cover for Christian Eriksen.
Amrabat has 12 months left on his current deal and so his employers may now wish to consider an exit to get a return on their player if his one-year extension is not triggered.

United have already agreed personal terms with Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount in the hunt for a new midfielder this summer. It’s unlikely that Ten Hag will splash big on two midfield recruits with a centre-forward required.
Rice is apparently being valued at around £100m by his club, although Amrabat would certainly be available at a far cheaper price. United fans took to Twitter after the Europa Conference League final to ask Ten Hag to consider a move for either star.
