Brazilian Real Strength Sparks Short Covering in NY Sugar Futures

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH26) today is up +0.06 (+0.42%), and December London ICE white sugar #5 (SWZ25) is down -0.90 (-0.22%).

Sugar prices are mixed today.  NY sugar is moving higher today due to strength in the Brazilian real.  The real (^USDBRL) rallied to a 17-month high against the dollar today, discouraging export sales from Brazil's sugar producers and sparking short covering in NY sugar futures.
