The Brazil team landed in Australia for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in a plane bearing a poignant tribute to women’s rights protesters in Iran.
The Boeing plane touched down in Brisbane on Tuesday, bearing the words “No woman should be forced to cover her head” and “no man should be hanged for saying this”.
The aircraft’s tail also featured a black-and-white image of Mahsa Amini - the 22-year-old Iranian woman who died in the custody of so-called morality police in September, after being arrested for wearing a hijab too loosely.
On the reverse of the tail was an image of Iranian footballer Amir Nasr Azadani, who was jailed for 16 years for his part in widespread protests over Ms Amini’s death.
A number of people in Iran have been executed for their involvement in the anti-government protests.
