Brazil have "prepared" celebrations for first ten World Cup goals

Raphinha admits he and his Brazil teammates have prepared and rehearsed celebrations for their first ten goals at the World Cup.

The South Americans arrive in Qatar as one of the favourites and are clearly confident of ending a drought at the tournament which dates back to 2002. Raphinha is part of a star-studded squad that also includes Neymar, Vinicius Jnr and Tottenham's Richarlison.

Brazil have long been known for their flair and this current group, led by manager Tite, are no different. They will begin their campaign on Thursday when they take on Serbia. After that they face games with Cameroon and Switzerland and are clearly confident of finding the back of the net.

"To tell you the truth, we already have dances prepared for up to the 10th goal," Raphinha told a news conference when quizzed on their celebration plans. "We have some 10 dances prepared for each match, one for the first, one for the second, one for the third ... If we score more than 10, then we'll have to start innovating."

Raphinha, who moved from Leeds to LaLiga giants Barcelona in the summer, is battling for a starting berth but believes his country will have no problem in the final third.

"With Vinicius we gain more speed on the attack, while with Paqueta we have more control near the midfield," Raphinha added. "But Brazil has a characteristic of always being offensive-minded, no matter who gets to play."

Richarlison has been in red-hot form in recent months and could well command the No 9 role despite the competition. He scored three times in the two recent internationals and is confident he'll score given the creativity around him. He said: "When you wear the No. 9 jersey with the Brazilian national team, all you want to do is score goals. With these teammates, I'm sure the goals will come."

Confidence is high within the camp despite their failing to make an impression in recent tournaments. They only made one semi-final in the four tournaments since their last victory. They also lost out in the Copa America final last summer to arch-rivals Argentina.

Nevertheless, Richarlison made no secret of their ambitions. "We are dreamers, we are going after this sixth star no matter what people are going to say," he said. Neymar has copped criticism for being over confident after posting an Instagram story of himself in his Brazil shorts whilst adding a sixth star to the country's crest.
