An Edinburgh Mercedes driver has filmed himself driving at excessive speeds on a country road and posted it online.
The video, spotted on TikTok, shows the seemingly car-daft driver reaching speeds of almost 80 miles per hour on an unknown road just outside of the city.
The caption of the video reads: "Point of view: you pass police doing 100mph and they switch their lights on."

This message appears before the driver puts his foot down and accelerates at down a single-track country road.
The in-car camera shows the driver reaching high speeds, but not the 100mph the caption suggests, and there doesn't appear to be any others vehicles, or even any police in the area, suggesting the video was just for fun, despite it being incredibly reckless.
From the video, it is clear that if another motorist, or pedestrian was approaching the speeding car, then the situation would soon have turned into a completely different matter.
The country road included many bumps and hidden crests, with the driver unable to know for sure if another car was approaching ahead of him.
The 'trend' appears to be an opportunity for fellow car enthusiasts to show off their vehicles, although it was fortunate that nobody was travelling on this particular road at the time.
