A brave mum has recalled the frightening moment that her tot disappeared down a manhole.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Amy said that she "will never mentally recover" from having to rescue her son Theo after he stepped on an unscrewed cover.

Footage of the accident showcased Amy, from Kent, rushing to the manhole within seconds of Theo disappearing, Kent Live reports.
