These are brain tumour symptoms to be aware of and to look out for.
A brain tumour is a growth of cells in the brain that multiplies in an abnormal, uncontrollable way. Symptoms may develop gradually over a long period of time if the tumour is slow growing, or can be quickly over days or weeks if the tumour is fast growing.
According to Cancer Research UK, a person's risk of developing cancer depends on many things including age, genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors. Risk factors for developing a brain tumour include getting older and family history, however, having these does not mean that you will definitely develop a brain tumour.

International Brain Tumour Awareness week runs from October 29 to November 5, 2022, where charities will be raising awareness of checking for symptoms and abnormalities.
Brain tumours cause symptoms because they take up space inside the skull when they grow. Symptoms can also develop due to their position in the brain.
Signs and symptoms of breast cancer according to Cancer Research UK include:
- Persistent headaches that worsen over time or with nausea
- Eye problems such as seeing flashing lights or blind spots
- Seizures (fits)
- Drowsy or even losing consciousness
- You might find that your eyesight is getting worse and glasses are not helping
Changes in personality or behaving in a way that you wouldn’t normally
Difficulty with speaking and hearing
Short term memory loss
Difficulty walking
Progressive weakness or paralysis on one side of the body
Book in to see your doctor if you have any of these symptoms or other changes that are unusual for you or that will not go away. Although your symptoms may not be cancer, it is important to get them checked.
