Bradley Walsh left speechless as Blankety Blank contestant storms off set

Bradley Walsh was stunned when a Blankety Blank contestant stormed off the set before the programme had even ended.

The 62-year-old presenter was at a loss for words on Saturday when Katie, a mum-of-two from Swansea, left the stage during Bradley's end speech after winning £750.

Bradley was joined by a celebrity panel for the show, consisting of Strictly Come Dancing star Motsi Mabuse, Saffron Barker, Sophie Duker, comedian Jimmy Carr, Blue Peter host Matt Baker and Bez.

Contestant Katie made it to the final round after already banking £750. All she had to do next was pick a celebrity to help her with one last question to win the star prize of a surfing weekend in Cornwall.

Katie chose Jimmy to help her and the pair were tasked with answering a question with the same response.

Unfortunately for Katie, she said "horse box", while Jimmy said "horse shoe".

Bradley thanked her for taking part in the show and said: "That's the way it goes, I'm so sorry Katie. I wish you well all the way back to Swansea."

"But of course, you've got £750 plus a Blankety Blank chequebook and pen," at which point Katie left the stage, waving to the audience.

After she disappeared behind a screen, the audience burst into laughter while a stunned Bradley stopped what he was saying and looked around for Katie.

The contestant eventually reappeared and seemed embarrassed by the blunder, apologising to the TV host.

Celebrity guest Jimmy tried to make light of the mishap and said: "Do you know what? That's the right attitude. If you don't win, just do one."

Bradley became the new presenter of the iconic Blankety Blank after it was revived last year.

The show sees contestants work with a celebrity panel to try and fill in the blanks in a series of missing phrases. Previous episodes have seen the likes of Stacey Dooley, Roman Kemp and Judi Love take part.

Blankety Blank airs Saturdays on BBC One.
