TV favourite Bradley Walsh has cleared up rumours that The Larkins isn't coming back for a new series because it 'flopped' in the ratings. The actor and comedian took the opportunity to quash the rumours during an appearance on ITV's This Morning.
Joining Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Bradley directly addressed the rumours about the show being axed and falling ratings. The Larkins, which is a spin-off from 90s series The Darling Buds of May, made its debut on ITV in 2021.
Bradley plays Pop, a role played by Only Fools and Horses legend David Jason in the original series, with Joanna Scanlan as Ma, following in the footsteps of Pam Ferris. According to Chronicle Live, the first series of The Larkins attracted an average audience of over five million with series two, which aired last year, dipping to just over four million.

Earlier this month it was reported that ITV was ready to drop the show due to its lower than expected viewing figures and cast differences. A source told The Sun: "The Larkins is going to be dropped in the new year - the writing is on the wall. The ratings for series two were disappointingly low and cast disagreements on set have been an ongoing problem for the production team."
Taking the opportunity to dispel any rumours about the programme, Bradley spoke out during an interview on This Morning. He was on the show, together with his son Barney, to talk about the new series of their show Breaking Dad.
However, after the father and son duo had spoken about what was to come in Breaking Dad, Holly informed viewers that Bradley wanted to 'clear up and clarify' stories about The Larkins not coming back. Bradley said: "I've had a few calls that it (series two of The Larkins) might be the last because of some problems with viewing figures.
"Viewing figures are absolutely fine; there's no problem with viewing figures. In comparison to the first series they all went well."
Giving his explanation on why there are no imminent plans to shoot any more, Bradley added: "It's a 14-week shoot. I haven't got time to do it this year, I don't have 14 weeks. So it's down to me, not anything else. We're trying, at the moment, to get something together to do a special. So that's what it's all about."
