Bradley Cooper abandons Maestro press conference due to family emergency

Bradley Cooper rushed off the stage at a press conference for latest film Maestro after receiving a worrying phone call from his daughter's school.

Cooper, 48, who plays composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in the film now streaming on Netflix which he also co-wrote and directed, stopped the publicity event around 20 minutes in, apologising as he explained: "The school nurse just called me … can I leave the room for a second to call them back and you can keep going? Is that all right?"

After walking out of the conference, he returned minutes later and explained he had to leave to go to the school, the Daily Mail reports.Cooper shares six-year-old Lea with ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, 37, and the pair co-parent their child while remaining on good terms with one another.

It comes after little Lea made her red carpet debut earlier this month at a screening for Maestro, which has been generating a lot of Oscars buzz.

For her big moment in the spotlight, Lea wore a sweet leopard-print party dress with matching gold buckled shoes. She further accessorised with a crossbody black and red handbag.

The blue-eyed youngster was not her father's date for the evening however, she plays a younger version of Maya Hawke's character Jamie Bernstein in the flick.

Although model Shayk was missing, she shared her support for her family on social media.

"Congrats @maestrofilm," she wrote alongside a poster of the movie on her Instagram Stories.

"So proud Daddy and Lea," she added, alongside a heart and arrow emoji.

Another clip showed the back of Lea’s head in a screening room as the name of Cooper's production company, Lea Pictures, flashed up on screen.
