Bradley Chubb may be a stalwart defensive player, but he’s human at the end of the day.
So, when the Denver Broncos traded for Russell Wilson, it’s understandable to see current players share that they were emotional immediately after the transaction. Bettering himself in the classroom this offseason, Chubb said that he was actually taking a test when the trade went down. But when finished, Chubb, like many of Broncos Country, was pretty excited.
“When I found out we [traded for] him, it was crazy, man,” Chubb said last week. “I was jumping up and down. I took some classes this offseason, so I was taking a test. My phone was buzzing in my pocket. I said, ‘What’s going on? Why is everybody calling me?’ I get out and my agent, my brother, my mom, and my dad — everybody was jumping up and down because we got Russ.
“It’s been great so far just seeing his leadership style and the way he attacks every day. It’s just going to be fun for not only me to learn, but the receivers to learn and the o-line to learn from him and see the energy that he brings. [We need] to adopt that and put it towards these wins.”
Chubb, like many of his teammates, is pleased with the leadership Wilson has already shown since joining the team. Brighter days are ahead for Denver.
