Alex Neil made a full slate of changes, with a completely different starting XI to the one that began at Dundee United at the weekend. New signing from West Ham Aji Alese came on as a sub at Tannadice but he started against Bradford City at Valley Parade, playing alongside Danny Batth and Carl Winchester in a back three.
Lynden Gooch came in at right wingback, with Ellis Taylor on the left. Former Manchester United youngster Jacob Carney started in goal, making his first pre-season outing in the process.
There was a midfield trio of Jay Matete, Luke O'Nien, and Elliot Embleton, with Jack Clarke and Jack Diamond the front two. Only four of the side that started had completed a full 90 minutes in pre-season - Gooch, Winchester, Matete, and Clarke.
