Bradford Bulls have won April Fool’s Day by releasing a new Leeds Rhinos’ inspired third shirt. The Championship club unveiled the blue and amber strip this morning and it’s fair to say some have forgotten what day it is.
Posting the jersey on social media, the Bulls claimed it would be worn for the club’s Summer Bash clash against Halifax Panthers, which will be held in July at Headingley, the home of the Rhinos.
“Inspired by our friends down the M62 and in celebration of the Summer Bash's inaugural year at the Emerald Headingley Stadium - we are delighted to reveal our limited edition third shirt,” the Bulls’ release read alongside the tagline ‘Leeds by example’.
“The blue and amber jersey - complete with blue shorts and blue socks - pays homage to the Leeds Rhinos.”
Most supporters on social media saw the funny side as the Bulls poked fun at their nearest and dearest rivals, but some fell for the joke hook, line and sinker.
