Brad Pitt has sued his ex-wife Angelina Jolie for selling her stake in the French vineyard they own together - where they got married.
The former couple - who were married from 2014 to 2019 - purchased a controlling inrerest in Chateau Miraval in 2008 and they tied the knot there six years later.
Hollywood star Brad revealed they agreed not to sell their share of the vineyard without the permission of each other.
He said Jolie sold her stake without his knowledge to a Luxembourg-based spirits manufacturer controlled by Russian businessman Yuri Shefler. She has not yet commented.
Brad's lawyers said Chateau Miraval, comprising a home and vineyard in the south of France, had "become Pitt's passion" and, under his stewardship, had grown into a "multimillion-dollar international success story".
The lawsuit claimed: "She sold her interest with the knowledge and intention that Shefler and his affiliates would seek to control the business to which Pitt had devoted himself and to undermine Pitt's investment in Miraval."
His lawyers said the move had intended to cause "gratuitous harm" to Brad, who had "poured money and sweat equity into the wine business".
The Miraval estate, in the village of Correns in south-east France, was reportedly bought by the couple for around 25 million euros (£20.9m).
Angelina "informed Pitt in writing" of her decision to sell to Shefler in January 2021, saying she had reached a "painful decision, with a heavy heart", the suit alleges.
Lawyers for Brad have requested a trial by jury.
The estranged pair are still hammering out details of their divorce settlement, including custody of their six children.
Brad and ex-wife Angelina married in France in 2014, with the Maleficent actress filing for divorce two years later.
The former couple share six children together - Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 13.
They are still at war with each other who will get custody of their children, and their court battle continues.
But it was recently reported Brad hopes he and his ex-wife can put it all behind them and move on at some point in the future.
A source told US Weekly: "Brad hopes that one day he and Angelina find a way to forgive each other and move forward, for the kids' sakes if nothing else. He hates all the bad blood."
The Mirror has contacted Angelina's representative for a comment.
