Boyzone song and other Christmas hits could land you a €5,000 fine

If you love to indulge in a bit of Boyzone while driving, you may want to rethink your music choice (for reasons other than the obvious.)

A recent study in China claims that some songs might actually increase the likelihood of the driver getting into a car accident. So songs from top artists such as Spice Girls and Dermot Kennedy might have to be taken off your Spotify playlist (say it isn't so!)

A study, led by scientists from South China University of Technology, claims that listening to a song with a high number of beats per minute (BPMs) can increase the risk of getting into a car accident. Songs with BPMS over 120 can increase your risk of dangerous driving, an offence that can result in a fine of €5,000.
