Boy who claims he is a reincarnation of dead Hollywood star recalls memories of past life

A boy has shocked his parents after claiming to be a reincarnation of a Hollywood film star who passed away 40 years before he was born. Ryan Hammond, from Oklahoma, USA, started detailing the wild claims in 2015 when he was 11-years-old but has been having memories of his past life since he was as young as three.

Ryan believes that he was previously a powerful Hollywood agent called Marty Martyn and can vividly remember how he died, the Mirror reports. He recalls how he felt his heart 'exploding' and then he went towards the light.

His declarations left his parents in shock and he soon made national press in the US and starred on daytime TV many times. Reincarnation has never been factually proven by scientists but accounts of the afterlife are continued to be studied in depth.

The boy says as a star he lived a luxurious life in New York City with a circle of famous friends and was married four times throughout his life before he died at 61 from a brain haemorrhage in 1964. Ryan who was born in 2004 told police and his parents that he died in Hollywood and would often get night terrors where he'd wake up clutching his chest or screaming 'action'.

The boy also asked his mum to take him to Hollywood to visit his other family, with a documentary setting up a meeting between Ryan and Marty's daughter. The youngster was confused to see that the woman was no longer a girl and had grown up as they toured around multiple places in Los Angeles that would have been recognisable to the former actor.

Throughout the trip, Marty's daughter confirmed a number of the youngster's claims to be true. Child psychiatrist, Dr Jim Tucker also believes Ryan and his strange memories.

Tucker, who has dedicated much of his life to studying young kids who recall bizarre memories such as past lives, said: "The world just doesn't work as we think or assume it does. The cases I have examined don't come under a normal explanation of how we perceive the world".

Ryan has even told his mother in the past that when someone dies they need to head towards the light if they want to make it to the afterlife. Over time, Ryan's memories of his past life as Marty have begun to dim but he still shares many similarities with his alleged past self including his love for movies and for New York City.
