A girl was rescued from the water in Cork city on Wednesday night following a heroic effort by emergency services and members of the public.
After receiving a report that a girl had entered the water just before 11pm last night, the fire brigade, Gardaí, and National Ambulance Service were rushed to Sullivan's Quay.
A boy, who has not been named, was one of the first to attend to the girl prior to the arrival of emergency services, helping her get safely out of the water.

The incident was confirmed to CorkBeo by a Garda spokesperson, who told they publication that Gardaí were at the scene and that the girl, who was not named, received medical attention afterwards.
They said: "Gardaí assisted a female teenage juvenile from the water at Sullivan’s Quay in Cork yesterday evening.
"The female received medical attention."
