Boy Meets World star Matthew Lawrence confirms romance with TLC's Chilli after divorce

Matthew Lawrence has confirmed his new romance with TLC's Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas – three months after his divorce from his ex-wife Cheryl Burke.

The Mrs Doubtfire star, 42, went Instagram official with Chilli, 51, on New Year's Eve, sharing a sweet video of them dancing to A-ha's song Take On Me.

A representative for the No Scrubs singer revealed the loved-up pair began dating just before Thanksgiving and that they spent the holidays and Christmas together in Atlanta.

They told TMZ that Matthew also met Chilli's family over the Christmas break and that the new couple are "very happy" in their "exclusive relationship".

Matthew and Chilli posed together in matching PJs as they danced, captioning the post: "#NewYearsShenanigans #OnesieGang #WeCute".

Fans are thrilled with the new relationship, with one commenting: "My 90s heart is bursting with joy for both of you!"

Another wrote: "You guys are so cute." Matthew's former Boy Meets World co-star Danielle Fishel commented: "This makes me very happy!!"

It's just months after Matthew and Cheryl's divorce finalised. The former Dancing With the Stars pro filed for divorce from Matthew in February 2018 after almost three years of marriage.

She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, listing their date of separation as January 7 of that year.

Chilli previously dated Usher in the early 2000s, with the recording artists splitting in 2003. She also shares a 25-year-old son, Tron Austin, with her ex Dallas Austin.

Recently, Matthew claimed he stayed away from drugs after he was warned off them by Robin Williams – he played Robin's son in the 90s film Mrs Doubtfire.

The actor, who played Chris Hillard, told People that Robin gave him the "gift" of the important advice. He told Matthew "don't ever do drugs, especially cocaine".

Matthew said: "He was very serious. He was like, ‘You know when you come to my trailer and you see me like that?’ He’s like, ‘That’s the reason why. And now I’m fighting for the rest of my life because I spent 10 years doing something very stupid every day. Do not do it'.

"I stayed away from it because of him," he explained.
