Boy George takes cheeky swipe at Lorraine Kelly after finding clip discussing 'tantrum'

Boy George has taken a cheeky swipe at Lorraine Kelly after finding a clip of her discussing his rumoured 'tantrum' on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2022.

The iconic popstar has returned to social media after leaving the jungle on Tuesday night and has taken the time to clear up some speculation behind his time on the show. George, 61, suggested that there was "a lot of sly b****ing about Matt Hancock " that wasn't aired, he also replied to a clip of Lorraine discussing his rumoured "explosive strop".

In the video, which was tweeted on Monday, Lorraine said to an ITV entertainment correspondent: " Boy George - now what's going on there? He keeps saying, 'I speak my mind, I speak my mind' but he's always sort of doing hushed asides. But he did have a wee bit of a tantrum... not a tantrum, it was just a... I don't know what you would call it."

The reporter referred to it as "one of the stranger stories over the last couple of days" and was about him being unable to ride in a golf buggy back to camp after a trial. Laughing, Lorraine asked: "Does he even watch this show? You don't get golf buggies George!"

After it was explained that Sue was able to take a golf buggy back to camp because of her special condition, Boy George is reported to have said he wanted one as well but was told no. This then reportedly led to him stealing an apple and hiding behind some trees.

Lorraine Kelly is not a huge fan of Matt Hancock's stint on I'm A Celeb (ITV)

"For goodness sake, the cameras are everywhere," Lorraine giggled. "There is absolutely no hiding place!"

She sarcastically then joked that she often gets a lift in a golf buggy through the studio, adding: "I think the thing with George is not that many people tell him no. I'm very fond of him but there's that as well!"

In response, Boy George cheekily quipped: "Yes my darling Lorraine I bet you walk everywhere and do your own make-up? Lol!"

Since leaving the jungle, George has taken to Twitter to clear up rumours and hit back at his critics. In response to George's tweet about the media, a fan responded: "What a fantastic attitude, some of the headlines have been vile about you , Chris and sue, apparently you are all bullies because you asked the MP awkward questions."

George responded: "I think @MattHancock will say otherwise and many will have Ostrich Egg on their faces. I treated him with absolute respect. I said what I needed to say and I made some fun digs but there was zero awkwardness. He appreciated my directness."

He added: "There was lot’s of sly bitching about @MattHancock but I told him to stand up for himself and par boil the potatoes to make chips! I was also the driving force behind the Ostrich omelette. Lol!"

George became the fourth celebrity to leave the jungle on Tuesday night, ahead of the shows finale on Sunday night. The singer was reportedly quite keen to return back to the UK before the final takes place, but his plans were blocked by ITV bosses.

Sources close to the Karma Chameleon star told MailOnline : "He wanted to go home immediately, he doesn't want to hang around. If he had his way he would be on a plane already but he wasn't allowed to do that."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight on STV at 9pm.
