Boy George takes a swipe at Lorraine Kelly after unearthing awkward clip of I'm A Celeb dig

Boy George has taken a withering swipe at Lorraine Kelly after discovering an awkward clip of her criticising his rumoured tantrum on I'm A Celebrity.

The 61-year-old Karma Chameleon hitmaker, who has denied reports ITV blocked him from flying home and skipping the final, took to Twitter to respond to hit back at his critics.

As well as suggesting that there was "a lot of sly b****ing about Matt Hancock " that wasn't aired, he replied to a clip of Lorraine commenting on claims he threatened to quit the show after having an "explosive strop".

In the video, which was tweeted on Monday, Lorraine said to an ITV entertainment correspondent: " Boy George - now what's going on there? He keeps saying, 'I speak my mind, I speak my mind' but he's always sort of doing hushed asides. But he did have a wee bit of a tantrum... not a tantrum, it was just a... I don't know what you would call it."

The reporter referred to it as "one of the stranger stories over the last couple of days" and was about him being unable to ride in a golf buggy back to camp after a trial.

Laughing, Lorraine asked: "Does he even watch this show? You don't get golf buggies George!"

After it was explained that Sue was able to take a golf buggy back to camp because of her special condition, Boy George is reported to have said he wanted one as well but was told no. This then reportedly led to him stealing an apple and hiding behind some trees.

"For goodness sake, the cameras are everywhere," Lorraine giggled. "There is absolutely no hiding place!"

Boy George hit back with a sarcastic retort (BoyGeorge/Twitter)

She sarcastically then joked that she often gets a lift in a golf buggy through the studio, adding: "I think the thing with George is not that many people tell him no. I'm very fond of him but there's that as well!"

In response, Boy George wryly retorted: "Yes my darling Lorraine I bet you walk everywhere and do your own make-up? Lol!"

Fans clocked onto his sarcastic remark, with one writing: "It's her own way to try to attract your attention, she succeeded lol."

Another quipped: "Sarcasm at its finest lol."

A third wrote: "Nicely played."
