Boy George claims Matt Hancock snarled at him for Margaret Thatcher jibe

There is no love lost between Boy George and Matt Hancock as Boy George has dealt another savage blow to the former Health Secretary since leaving the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

The musician has laughed off Matt Hancock ’s public justification for going on I’m A Celebrity, as he said: "Don’t believe anything he says about why he did it."

The Conservative MP claimed he signed up in a bid to deliver "important messages to the masses", but has been met with cynicism.

Amongst other comments, Boy George has also revealed that Matt Hancock reportedly "snarled" at him after a jibe over Margaret Thatcher's handbags.

The Karma Chameleon singer revealed the Tory MP's sense of humour was severely lacking. Speaking to The Sun on Sunday in an explosive interview, he said: "There was another time when he had a sense of humour failure too, I had asked him what his specialist subject would be on Mastermind.

"He paused, and I said: 'Margaret Thatcher’s handbags?' He really snarled at me and I thought: 'Oh he’s got no sense of humour'."

Boy George has also scorned Hancock's reasons for joining the ITV reality show, as he said: "We all know that politicians are real people. We also know everyone wants to be a rock star, everybody. Especially politicians.

"So it’s impossible to believe some people’s reasons for doing something. Ultimately, they are doing it for a bigger profile, a bit more attention, hopefully showing people a different side."

He added: "So don’t believe anything Matt says about why he did I’m A Celebrity this year. He did it because he wants to kick up his heels and have a good time."

Since coming third in the show, behind actor Owen Warner and Lioness Jill Scott, Hancock has announced plans to quit politics and step down from his Tory party seat. He's also revealed he will be releasing a tell-all book on his life as Health Secretary during the pandemic and the exposure of his affair.
