Boy, 5, rushed to hospital after being 'hit by car' outside Scots school

A young boy was rushed to hospital after allegedly being hit by a car outside of a Scots school.

The five-year-old was allegedly struck on a crossing on Broomhill Road, outside Antonine Primary in Bonnybridge, just as the school day was ending at 3.13pm yesterday.

He was was taken to hospital following the alleged collision. A 26-year-old woman has since been reported in connection with a road traffic offence.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Broomhill Road, Bonnybridge at around 3.15pm on Wednesday, January 25, following a collision involving a child pedestrian and car.

“Emergency services attended and the five-year-old boy was taken to hospital by ambulance.

“The road was closed for a short time and reopened by 4.05pm. A 26-year-old woman will be reported in connection with a road traffic offence.”
