Man, 30, seriously injured in attack at busy city centre bar
A man was found unconscious in a city centre bar after an attack on Saturday.

Merseyside Police rushed to Hardy's Bar on Mathew Street at around 6.25pm on Saturday, June 11, following reports of a man being found unconscious. Once officers arrived they found the victim, a man in his 30s, was unconscious after being assaulted in the bar.
The man was rushed to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service, where he remains in a serious, but stable condition.
'Happy' four year old boy died two hours after GP sent him home
A "happy" four-year-old boy died when an underlying condition caused his heart to suddenly stop.
George Thomas Spencer died on March 19, 2021, after staff at St James Primary School in Clitheroe, noted his breathing was "raspy". When mum Danielle collected George from after-school club she noticed he was having difficulty breathing, so his dad Terry took George to the GP.
Dr Jill Osgood saw George at Clitheroe Health Centre that day. At an inquest at Accrington Town Hall today (June 13) Dr Osgood said she had experience of patients with croup - which George had a history of - which can be "variable in its presentation".
However, after assessing George, Dr Osgood said she found his heart rate, temperature and oxygen saturation were all "within the normal parameters". She said: "He was very chatty and joking, speaking in full sentences, there was no hoarse voice but I did hear noisy breathing."
Drug boss wanted ambulance to help transport cocaine during lockdown
A criminal planned to buy a decommissioned ambulance to move drugs around the country during lockdown.
Dad-of-two Martin Grant, 33, was jailed for over 14 years on Friday after Liverpool Crown Court heard he acted as a "wholesale broker" within the drug economy. Grant supplied high quality cocaine from South America and heroin.
Grant, who used the Encro handle 'SwiftOrchid ' began selling drugs days after he was released from prison on licence in 2019. Grant had been jailed for ten years in 2015 for slashing a man across the face with a knife.
During the hearing Ben Jones, prosecuting, told the court that Grant had been trying to source an ambulance to help move drugs around the country during lockdown. Mr Jones said that Grant wanted an ambulance to avoid attracting unwanted attention on the road network during the national lockdown in 2020.
