A 17-year-old boy has died after falling from a shopping centre in Harrow, northwest London.
The scene on St Kilda’s Road by St George’s was attended to by police, paramedics and London's Air Ambulance on Wednesday morning.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, the teenager was pronounced dead shortly after.
The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that his death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
According to eyewitnesses, much of Harrow town centre was taped off while emergency workers attended the scene.
The victim’s family is being supported by specialist officers while enquiries are made.
St George’s confirmed that it is also “working closely with the authorities”.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "At around 09:05hrs on Wednesday, 12 November, police were called to St Kilda’s Road, Harrow, following reports a 17-year-old had fallen from a height.
“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers. The incident is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious."
The London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 9.04am today (12 November) to reports of a person who had fallen from height in St Kilda's Road, Harrow.
“We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene.”
