A dad has spoken of the excruciating pain his son has been left in after being hit by a car. Ayhan Mahdid suffered a double fracture in his leg following the collision in Blackley.
The 12-year-old had been on his way home from the Co-Op Academy at around 3.10pm last Friday (January 20) when the incident happened, his father Ismael told the Manchester Evening News.
Greater Manchester Police later issued a statement which said 'no serious injuries were reported', but Ismael says his son is now facing two months off school while in agony.
He said: "The police said there were no serious injuries, but he is suffering at home. All of his body is in pain.

"He was on the floor after he was hit by the car. He was coming out from school, he was still in his uniform when they took him to the hospital."
Ismael says his son is not sure how exactly the collision unfolded. He was rushed to North Manchester General Hospital for treatment, and returned to hospital for a follow-up appointment on Thursday.
"They took him in an ambulance to an appointment to check his leg," said Ismael. "They said they want him to use crutches, but he still has a lot of pain in his body. My son is suffering."
He added: "The car was powerful. Now my son is struggling, he can't go to school for eight weeks."
In a statement issued on Saturday (January 21), Greater Manchester Police confirmed it had been called out to a 'collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian' on Charlestown Road on the previous afternoon. No arrests were made following the incident.
Charlestown Road was closed off between Hinchley Road and the Fourways Roundabout following the incident until around 5.30pm.
GMP has been approached for further comment.
