A 12-year-old boy has died after a garage wall collapsed on Friday night. Police said they were called to the scene by firefighters shortly before 7pm.
It happened in St John's Road, Clacton, Essex Police said. They said two people were initially unaccounted for. Road closures were put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A man, aged in his 30s, was rescued from the rubble and had an arm injury. However, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 12-year-old boy died at the scene. The pair were known to each other, police said, but the exact relationship has not yet been confirmed. The boy's death is being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, Essex Police added.
