Boy, 12, dies after being hit by car as family pay tribute to 'kind and caring' son

The family of a “beautiful” son killed when he was hit by a car have paid tribute to the schoolboy.

Tyler Wills, 12, was hit by the vehicle on Friday in Crawley, West Sussex at around 2.45pm.

He was rushed to hospital by paramedics but he was later pronounced dead.

A statement by the devastated family read: “Our beautiful boy Tyler – he was the most caring, loving, kind boy.

“He has made his family so proud; he will be loved and missed forever. Our beautiful boy, I hope you’re up high kicking that ball.

“We love you more than words will ever say.

“Mummy loves you.”

An investigation is ongoing by Sussex Police officers.

A number of tributes, including flowers and teddy bears were left at the scene of the collision, reports Sussex Live.

One tribute, left by Tyler's dad, praised his "gorgeous smile" and "kind heart" before referring to him as the "brightest star shining in the nighttime sky."

A gofundme page was launched by family friend Joseph Rous, to pay for his funeral costs.

The £10,000 target has already been met.

He wrote: “Yesterday my good friends lost their 12 year-old-son after he was hit by a car coming out of school.

“Tyler was one of the sweetest boys you could meet, he never had a bad bone in his body and always helped people whenever he could.

“I’m setting this page up as I'd like to get the funds so his family can give him the best send off and one he deserves but also a gravestone so everyone who loves Tyler and had the pleasure to meet him can visit and lay flowers and pay their respects for years to come.

“Tyler will always have a special place in my heart and will be missed by many.”

He added after donations topped £11,000: “The family have been overwhelmed by the support and donations.

“Although we have exceeded the target we want to let it run as many have messaged saying they wish to donate but haven't been able to as of yet.

“We appreciate all this wonderful community has done, everyone's pulled together and restored humanity in this difficult time.

“Thank you so much.”
