A 12-year-old boy has been charged over a fire that caused an estimated $3 million in damage at a primary school in Orange, in the New South Wales Central West.
Emergency services were called to Glenroi Heights Public School about 10:30pm on December 5 and found a two-storey administration building alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Orange and Bathurst joined the Rural Fire Service to tackle the blaze, which took five hours to contain.
Acting Superintendent Gerard Lawson said the boy was arrested on Tuesday.
"We are not aware he is a student at the school and we are still looking for a possible co-offender," he said.
"CCTV has helped the investigation as we tried to get hold of the person we thought might be involved."
Acting Superintendent Lawson said the boy would face a children's court charged with using fire to destroy property, breaking and entering and drug possession.
The school has not reopened to students since the fire and students were having to learn from home before the school holidays started.
