A 12-year-old boy allegedly stole a car from a Fife street before fleeing cops in a car chase.
Police said they were alerted to the theft on Walkerton Drive, Leslie, Glenrothes, at around 9.25am this morning.
The car was later located in High Street and a police tactical unit was deployed to the scene to protect the wider community.
Multiple police units were seen in the area and the road was closed off whilst cops attempted to deal with the incident.
The youngster fled the car following a chase but was later apprehended by officers. There are no reports of any injuries.
The 12-year-old has been reported to the Children's Reporter.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 9.25am on Sunday, 4 December, 2022, police received a report a car had been stolen from Walkerton Drive, Leslie.
"The vehicle was located in High Street, Leslie whereby tactical contact was deployed to prevent risk to the wider public. The male from the car made off and was later apprehended by officers.
"There are no reports of any injuries. A 12-year-old male has been reported to the Children’s Reporter.”
