Boy, 11, told his Asda Back to School range shoes are 'unacceptable' in classroom

A mum has condemned a school's strict new uniform policy after her son was told his Asda shoes are "unacceptable".

The single parent - who did not wish to be named - claims Paignton Academy in Devon told her 11-year-old child he couldn't wear the shoes, despite them being from the supermarket's Back to School range.

The new rules state pupils' shoes cannot contain canvas or trainer-type material.
