A young boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after his electric scooter crashed into a car.
Police and emergency services raced to the scene at Rosebank Lane in Forfar, at around 7.30pm on Sunday, July 17.
The 11-year-old child was then taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee via ambulance for treatment to injuries described as serious.
Witnesses on social media reported seeing the ambulance being escorted by a police van and two cars.
They added that a lane in the area close to Forfar Bowling Club had also been taped off by officers who were guarding the scene.
Enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a crash between an electric scooter and a car on Rosebank Lane, Forfar, at 7:30pm on Sunday, 17 July, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and the 11 year-old male rider of the scooter taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee by ambulance with serious injuries.”
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3099 of 18 July 2022.”
