Boy, 11, rescued from four-metre deep manhole at a petrol station in Tyrone

A young boy has been rescued after falling down a four-metre manhole at a petrol station in Co Tyrone.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident, which occurred shortly before 7pm in Dungannon on Wednesday, a Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told PA news.

Officers used specialist breathing apparatus and a harness to pull the boy up to safety.

The boy, 11, was conscious but suffered minor injuries to his back after falling into the four-metre deep manhole.

He was transported to Craigavon Area Hospital for further checks, the BBC reported.
