An 11-year-old boy has been charged over the sustained and serious assault of a 69-year-old man who was allegedly bashed by three people.
The victim was spat on and kicked and punched to the ground outside his Perth home on Monday about 6pm, Western Australian police allege.
He suffered multiple injuries, including cuts to his face, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Premier Roger Cook said he had seen a video of the alleged assault and it was "disgusting".
"It's sickening, absolutely sickening," he told reporters on Thursday.
"If he's guilty of those particular crimes I hope they throw the book at him."
The attack allegedly followed an argument between the group and the man after he spotted the trio throwing rocks at a neighbour's house.
Detectives charged the boy with acts or omissions causing bodily harm or danger.
He is due to appear in Armadale Children's Court on Friday.
