Boxing fans could soon be out for the count – on a bed designed by world heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.
The “Gypsy King” fighter, who on Friday confirmed he is “coming home” for a title bout against fellow Brit Dillian “The Bodysnatcher” Whyte, is focusing on his pad work by designing a furniture range with wife Paris, 32.
The flamboyant Furys – known for their love of matching Versace outfits – came up with the idea of working with the Luxury Bed Company after loving tailor-made beds it made for three of their six kids last year.
Tyson’s designs will be sold online later this year with prices starting at £1,299 for bespoke beds and £3,000 for sofas.
And just like on his WBC belt, the colour gold is set to feature heavily in his homeware.
A source close to the 33-year-old fighter said: “Paris and Tyson were both really happy with what the Luxury Bed Company came up with and asked them to create more.
“They are really putting their personal tastes into it. They’ve designed a really unique bed with a gold headboard and Chesterfield design, and asked that a similar design is carried through into a sofa too.
“The specially-tailored furniture is due to be sold as a new collection online.”
Phil Stephenson set up the Luxury Bed Company in Darlington, Teesside, in 2015 and has been expanding since, now operating across the UK.
His other celebrity customers include TV host Paddy McGuinness, plus reality star Scarlett Moffatt and actress Jacqueline Osborne – both queens of the jungle on I’m A Celeb.
It is unclear just how much Tyson, who lives in Morecambe, Lancashire, is set to rake in from knocking out furniture.
But he will pocket at least £25million from the fight against Whyte, thanks to his 80% share of the record £31million purse.
So if his homeware range doesn’t work out, his payday in the ring should cushion the blow.
