A Mexican boxer is in a critical condition after a fight in Glasgow.
Alejandra Ayala was put in an induced coma after losing to Scots boxer Hannah Rankin at the city's OVO Hydro last week.
The 31-year-old is currently "in an induced coma after undergoing two surgeries for a subdural hematoma" according to Mexican newspaper El Diario.
Fighter Alejandra was treated by medics in the ring before being rushed to hospital where she was placed in an induced coma and endured two operations for the hematoma.
It's reported that she is 'under observation and stable'.
The hospital she was taken to was not disclosed.
Her opponent, Hannah, is the current WBA and IBO champion.
Hannah took to Twitter on May 15 to show support and wish Alejandra a 'speedy recovery', Glasgow Live reports.
She wrote: "My thoughts, prayers and good wishes are with Alejandra and her family and team at this time.
"Once again thank you Scotland for supporting our fight and can we all keep Alejandra and her team in your thoughts for a speedy recovery."
It comes just a few weeks after another boxer taking part in a Glasgow bout was placed in an induced coma by doctors after receiving a 'very heavy punch'.
Luis Palmer, from Sheffield, was hospitalised after being hurt by the punch in the fourth round of his bout against Grant Quigley at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow city centre.
