Australia's bowlers have run through the West Indian line-up to avert an upset loss in a scrappy final warm-up game before their women's T20 World Cup title defence.
West Indies were well on the way to putting a spanner in the works of the tournament favourites at 1-92 in the 14th over, chasing 8-144.
But after top-scoring with 38 in Dubai on Wednesday morning (AEST), Annabel Sutherland was brought into the attack and was on a hat-trick when she claimed the crucial wicket of Deandra Dottin, trapping her lbw for a golden duck.
That sparked carnage, with West Indies losing 9-17 to be blasted out for 109 in the 18th over.
Alana King took 4-30 and Tayla Vlaeminck chipped in with 3-33, with those two bowlers also on hat-tricks, while Sutherland claimed 2-1 in her only over.
"I think it was one of the grittier performances for the team to hang in there, and for the lower order to get a chance out in the middle, I think that's pretty vital in a 'praccy' match," Sutherland told the Cricket Australia website.
"The bowlers were put under the pump at different stages but I thought we adapted really well and then got a run of momentum and capitalised."
After being sent in, Australia struck early trouble at 5-59 before No.5 Ashleigh Gardner made 31 from as many deliveries.
Sutherland's 38 from 28 balls at No.7 featured two fours and two sixes and King's late-innings cameo of 21 not out was important.
Aaliyah Alleyne and Afy Fletcher took two wickets apiece.
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph opened with a stand of 68 before Ellyse Perry struck.
Bowling for the first time in this campaign, Perry had Joseph caught at long-off by Sutherland for a quickfire 36 from 29 balls, featuring four fours and the only six of the West Indian innings.
Matthews top-scored with 42 from 46, with six fours, before Vlaeminck had her caught behind in the 17th over for the eighth wicket.
Australia also beat England on Sunday in Dubai.
Australia's opening World Cup match is in Sharjah on Saturday night (AEST) against Sri Lanka.
