On Saturday, Bowden Francis delivered a stellar performance for the Toronto Blue Jays, striking out a career-high 12 batters in a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Francis, who improved his record to 7-3, was in top form as he carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning, coming tantalizingly close to a historic achievement.

The 28-year-old pitcher showcased his dominance on the mound, walking three batters and hitting one while throwing an impressive 117 pitches, with 84 of them finding the strike zone. The crowd of 34,011 erupted in applause as Francis left the game to a standing ovation after Taylor Ward broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff homer in the ninth inning.

Despite the late hit, Francis's performance was nothing short of exceptional, earning him accolades from fans and teammates alike. Chad Green stepped in to close out the game, securing his 14th save in as many chances.

Francis's recent success has been remarkable, with the pitcher named American League Player of the Week for his outstanding performances. His stellar form was evident in his previous start against the Angels, where he also delivered a standout performance.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. contributed to the Blue Jays' victory with his 27th homer of the season, further solidifying the team's dominance over the Angels in their sixth consecutive win against the Los Angeles squad.

On the Angels' side, Carson Fulmer put up a solid effort on the mound, allowing two runs and seven hits over six innings while striking out eight batters. However, it was not enough to overcome the Blue Jays' strong offensive and pitching display.

Looking ahead, the Blue Jays are set to face off against the Angels in the series finale, with RHP Kevin Gausman scheduled to start for Toronto against Angels' LHP Tyler Anderson.

As the Blue Jays continue their winning streak and Francis's star continues to rise, fans eagerly anticipate more standout performances from the talented pitcher and the team as a whole.
