Scott Parker has backed Andy Howe to become a success at Newcastle in his new scouting role.
Howe, the nephew of Toon boss Eddie, left Bournemouth after 10 years to take up a position as part of Steve Nickson’s scouting network at St James’ Park.
DorsetLive claim Howe junior had attracted interest from other Premier League clubs but decided to join Newcastle and link up with his uncle.
Andy and Eddie worked together at Burnley, too, so it is little surprise to see the pair reunite on Tyneside.
Bournemouth boss and former Toon captain Parker believes the young scout will succeed in his new job.
"He's been here a long time," said Parker.
"I didn't have too many dealings with Andy due to Covid protocols, but has done a fantastic job and wish him nothing but all the very best in his new role and in his new job.
"I have no doubt he'll be successful there and like I said, wish him all the best."
Howe thanked Bournemouth for giving him an opportunity as he looked ahead to life at Newcastle.
On his Instagram account, he posted: “After an amazing 10 years within Bournemouth’s recruitment department, I’ve decided it’s time for my next challenge.
“The 10 years have flown by but what a 10 years it has been! The journey has been incredible and like everyone else I’m proud to have played a part in that journey. I want to thank everyone within the football club from past to present but more importantly to wish the club continued success.”
