Residents on a busy road in Nottingham have complained about the litter being left on the side of the roads which flies into their gardens, and some say they've seen bottles of urine and dirty used masks.
Residents of Edwards Lane, Sherwood, are speaking out about the litter left on the street, many are having to clear their driveways and gardens daily.
Dawn Hawkins, 52, who lives on Magnus Road, says that rubbish flies into her road from Edwards Lane.
She said: "It flows into the garden, it's more than normal, I have to pick up rubbish every other day.
"You see crisp packets, McDonald's bags, I haven't seen urine but it doesn't surprise me.
"Volunteers that come and clean up the litter helps."
A resident of Edwards Lane that wished to remain anonymous said: "It's dreadful.
"I've seen bottles of urine that I'm assuming has been thrown out of cars, endless piles of dog mess and food wrappers.
"There's all sorts of rubbish on the pavements and thrown over the wall into our garden."
John Greensmith, 67, who has lived on Edwards Lane since 1993, says he is picking up litter from his front garden every day.
"It's frustrating, I pick up litter every day.
"It's the masks, I have to put gloves on to pick them up and dispose of them.
"You see coffee containers, masks, there's a bin just up the road, it's annoying."
Sonia, Alie, 44, a resident of the street, said: "The litter is quite frequent, I have to pick it up off my drive way.
"You see it on the road, on people's driveways, on the path.
"It's usually bottles and cans, it's getting worse."
Catherine Reilly of Edwards Lane, says the problem isn't new.
She said: "It's been a problem for a long time. I think people drop it as they're walking along the street, as it's mainly sweet and crisp packets, but I have spotted the odd mask too. I often have to clear it from the bottom of the hedge or driveway, and it's pretty annoying especially as there's a public bin a bit further on."
A Nottingham City Council spokesperson said: “If someone wishes to highlight an issue in their neighbourhood, including litter, they can do so at www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/reportantisocial and we will look into it as soon as possible.”
