Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell believes Frank Lampard's side were denied a clear penalty in their 2-0 loss against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.
After a frustrating first period, Liverpool opened the scoring through Andy Robertson after he got his head on the end of Mohamed Salah's cross. Substitute Divock Origi then sealed the three points with a header of his own in front of the adoring Kop end.
However, there was controversy in the first half as Everton's Anthony Gordon went to ground in the Liverpool box under the challenge of Joel Matip, but referee Stuart Attwell waved play on. Gordon was shown a yellow card earlier in the half for simulation.

In the Sky Sports studio after watching his former side lose against their Merseyside neighbours, Campbell said: " This is a penalty for me. It’s a push in the back. He’s nowhere near the ball and he pushes him. For me that’s a penalty. If that’s at the other end, I’m sure that this stadium would go crazy.
"That’s the break that Everton needed today, it didn’t come. I thought the referee bottled it a bit, I really did. I thought that was a decision to be made, but he didn’t make it.”
Liverpool now sit one point behind Premier League leaders Manchester City while Everton find themselves in the relegation zone.
