A man has been hospitalised overnight after a violent robbery reported at a south Canberra liquor store.
The incident was reported at a business at a Woden shopping centre about 6pm on Monday, July 27.
ACT Policing said a 17-year-old male entered the bottle shop allegedly armed with a wooden baseball bat.
The teenager is accused of demanding cash from the business and striking an employee with the bat multiple times.
It is alleged the 17-year-old struck the worker again, leaving him seriously injured, before stealing a bottle of alcohol and leaving the business.
ACT Ambulance Service paramedics arrived at the location a short time later and treated the employee before taking him to hospital, police said.
About 6.35pm, police officers found the teenager at the City Bus Interchange where he is accused of resisting arrest.
Police officers then searched the young person and allegedly found a knife on his person.
The 17-year-old fronted the ACT Children's Court on Tuesday, July 28, where he was charged with intentionally inflicting actual bodily harm, aggravated robbery involving a weapon, knowingly resisting a territory public official, and possessing a knife without reasonable excuse.
