You never want to be the guy who is trending on social media because you just lost your lunch at a very public event in front of everyone. But there does seem to be an exception to this rule — namely, you need to win a title and puke at your own parade for such a moment to shift from a faux pas to a thing to remember fondly.
And such was the case for champion Boston Celtics small forward Sam Hauser, who recently opened up about that viral clip of his infamous loss of lunch in the City of Boston’s duck boat parade for the Celtics winning Banner 18. “I didn’t drink all playoffs, and I really didn’t drink much throughout the season,” said Hauser in a recent interview with Chris Long of the “Green Light” podcast C/O SI’s Bobby Krivitsky. “Everybody starts chucking drinks at you, and you just want to put them back for the people.”
“Then I hit a cigar, and that got me all spinny,” he added. “And then shortly after that, it was puke time.”

“I didn’t have my phone on me all day, so I think my mom pulled it up, and I don’t know how many times she watched it, probably a good 20 to 25 times,” said Hauser.
“I remember doing it, and in the moment, people were cheering. It was a quick rally after it, so I was impressed with myself.”
