The Boston Celtics (30-12) make the trip to New York City’s Barclay’s Center to face the Brooklyn Nets, their Atlantic Division rival, for the Eastern Conference’s top spot on Thursday.
The game, coming one night after a home win against the New Orleans Pelicans for the Celtics, will not be the pitched battle many were hoping for. Both teams will be without at least one key player and possibly more. It remains a good test of each team’s contender mettle, however.
If you happen to be looking for a way to watch the on-court action live on cable television or a local or national online streaming service, keep reading while we get you up to speed on everything else you need to know about the game.
Let’s begin with the players who are among those listed to be available to play.

Injuries of note
For the Celtics, Danilo Gallinari (ACL) was listed as out for Boston on the last report submitted before writing. Marcus Smart (knee) and Robert Williams III (knee) were also listed as questionable, and Jaylen Brown spoke of having “tweaked” his groin to NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin postgame against the Pelicans.
For the Nets, Kevin Durant (knee) is out, and Nick Claxton (shoulder) is listed as probable.
Mazzulla also shared that there was “no reason” the team elected to sit Williams against the Pels instead of the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. https://t.co/XG4wmCY3Ny pic.twitter.com/G8T3rSZS4O
