Former Boston Celtics wing and assistant coach Evan Turner believes that disgruntled star Damian Lillard leaving the Portland Trail Blazers organization is long overdue and supports Lillard’s decision to request a trade to play for the Miami Heat.
Turner fetes Lillard’s confidence as a player and his desire to have championship success after many years of trying to make it happen in Portland. The former Celtics assistant argued that players need to prioritize their own best interests and make decisions about their careers accordingly. And while he knows that the Blazers star will likely end up elsewhere, he also can’t help but admit his interest in seeing Lillard team up with Jayson Tatum on the Celtics.
