Boss of B&Q and Screwfix owner Kingfisher quits after seven years

Kingfisher Screwfix Thierry Garnier Ahold Delhaize BQ

Thierry Garnier, the chief executive of Kingfisher, which owns B&Q and Screwfix, is set to step down from his role.
He will take on the position of president and chief executive at the Netherlands-headquartered supermarket group Ahold Delhaize.
Garnier's exact departure date from Kingfisher is yet to be confirmed, but he has a 12-month notice period and will remain until a successor is found.
He is anticipated to commence his new role at Ahold Delhaize around April 2027, succeeding the outgoing Frans Muller.
Garnier joined Kingfisher in September 2019, navigating the company through the Covid-19 pandemic and implementing significant strategic initiatives.
