A boss has revealed the reason why he uses an unconventional 'coffee cup test' on job interview candidates when it comes to deciding who to hire.
Interviews are high-pressure situations as it is - but this test has nothing to do with how the candidate performed and instead relies on a gesture at the end of the interview. Trent Innes, the CEO of software company Compono, even went so far as to say that anyone who fails the test would be blacklisted for any future positions, The Mirror reports.
Trent, who was also formerly the managing director of tech company Xero Australia, explained on business podcast The Venture: "I will always take you for a walk down to one of our kitchens and somehow you always end up walking away with a drink.
