Borussia Dortmund issue update on Jude Bellingham transfer as Liverpool sent 'stupid' message

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has revealed 'no offers' have arrived for Jude Bellingham during the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old is a player Liverpool strongly admire, but it is no secret the Reds are not alone in sharing this stance on the teenager. Manchester City and Real Madrid are expected to rival Jurgen Klopp's side for the services of Bellingham, who is likely to command a transfer fee in excess of £100million.

Dortmund have becoming accustomed to losing key individuals in recent years, having cashed in on the likes of Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho to Premier League clubs, but are aware they find themselves in a position of power when it comes to Bellingham's future.

Under contract until 2025, the Bundesliga giants are well within their rights to demand the highest possible price for the England international and are unlikely to budge on their sky-high valuation. Offering an update on the current state of play as regards Bellingham, Dortmund's sporting director told Kicker: "Jude has made an incredible development here. With the way he plays football, his fighting spirit and his commitment, he has become a real Borussia player who identifies very much with BVB.

Kehl, once a Dortmund midfielder, added: "I can't say today if and when that will be the case with Jude, and from a purely sporting point of view I would be stupid to want to give up Jude Bellingham. We'll talk to him and his parents in due course. There is currently no pressure. Jude wants to concentrate fully on football. And by the way, there are no offers at all."
