Rangers star Borna Barisic has refused to set himself up for a Hampden fall as he vowed to not say 'stupid things' before the Scottish Cup semi-final showdown.
Michael Beale will look to keep the club's hopes of hopes of lifting silverware this season alive at Hampden while ending Ange Postecogolou's dreams of a clean sweep this season. Celtic go into the showdown at the national stadium as favourites having already seen off Rangers in the Viaplay Cup final, while currently holding a convincing 13-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and on course for a Treble.
Despite the dominant form on the green side of Glasgow, Barisic insisted that the Light Blues could claim victory and reach the showpiece final. When asked about having a "stronger mentality" going into the cup semi-final, Barisic bluntly responded: "Listen, it's very hard to talk about that now.
"We always talk about mentality, we need to do this and we need to do that. It comes and then we lose and it makes it, like, you said stupid things before the game when you don't do that. Do you know what I mean? So, I don't want to talk too much. I would like to be more quiet this time and show what I mean and what I do, what we did all week, and try to show that on the pitch."
Barisic also admitted the club have something to prove against their rivals before the end of the campaign. Asked if had something to prove against Celtic this season, he said: "The answer is of course, yes. You always compete against them. In this country it's either them or us, so every game is a big game. It is always an opportunity to prove we are better than them. Obviously this season that was not the case. For Sunday it is different. It's a semi-final and it's one game. It's always 50-50."
