Supporters lauded midfield enforcer Casemiro after he headed Manchester United in front in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
After a relatively uninspiring opening half an hour from the Reds, they got their noses in front with 33 minutes on the clock. Casemiro connected with Luke Shaw's free-kick delivery and he planted a firm header past Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius.
The goal went to a VAR check for a potential offside, sparking fears among the Reds supporters inside the stadium that it would be chalked off, but it was given, meaning the Brazilian held onto his fifth goal of the campaign. United had created very little up until the goal, meaning it was a moment greatly received and embraced by the supporters.
