The TOI correspondent from Washington : The US Supreme Court on Tuesday dealt President Donald Trump one of the most consequential legal defeats of his second term, striking down his executive order seeking to deny citizenship to children born to parents who are in the U. S unlawfully or temporarily. In a 6-3 opinion, the court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees birthright citizenship to nearly everyone born on American soil.
